COOL @ SCHOOL OFFICIAL RULES

1.  No purchase necessary to enter or win. Contest is ongoing.

2. Who Can Enter:

a.   Submissions must be for a program, activity, club or event from a public school in the KLAS-TV broadcast viewing area.

3. Entry for the Cool @ School is by the following option:

a.   Submit a program, activity, club or event that you think is Cool @ School on 8newsnow.com. Include the required information on the form provided.

b.   Incomplete forms will disqualify the nominated program, activity, club or event from the cash award.

c.   One (1) entry per person, per program, activity, club or event or the nominated program, activity, club or event will be ineligible for the cash award.

d.   Disqualified programs, activities, clubs or events may still be featured on Eyewitness News This Morning.

4. The giveaway will be conducted the following way:

a.   Not all entries will be featured in Eyewitness News This Morning. Featured programs, activities, clubs and events are the decision of the newsroom and producers of the segment. A total of twenty (20) programs, activities, clubs or events will be chosen as a feature in each sweeps period.

b.   Sweeps periods are as follows – May 2009, July 2009, and November 2009.

c.   KLAS-TV and Landmark Communications, their subsidiaries and affiliates and their respective directors and employees are not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, malfunction, defect, breaking news or delay of any kind in television transmissions, or on-line or internet submissions affecting the proper execution of Cool @ School. 

d.   Multiple entries by different viewers will not increase your odds of a feature on Eyewitness News This Morning.

e.   Featured segments on Eyewitness News This Morning, does not give a greater advantage to receive a cash prize.

f.   All entries will carry over to the next award period.

g.   Award periods are as follows –  May- June 2009, July - August 2009, and November – December 2009.

h.   December 2009 all entries will be discarded.

5. Four (4) winners will be chosen randomly from all the eligible entries, per award period:

a.   Cash Prize Winners –  Four (4) randomly drawn programs, activities, clubs or events from the eligible nominees will be awarded – total $250.00 each award.

b.   Featured programs, activities, clubs or events on KLAS-TV do not constitute as a decision of a cash prize win.

c.   A KLAS-TV panel determines eligibility. KLAS-TV has the right to make final decisions regarding program, activity, club or event winners and judging.

d.   The awarded money will directly to the program, activity, club or event nominated. No compensation will go to the person who nominated the program, activity, club or event.

e.   Only one (1) cash award per year, per program.

6.  All prizes are non-transferable by the winner. No substitutions will be allowed or prize will be forfeited. Prizes must be picked up at KLAS-TV by the chosen program, activity, club or event director or the prize will be forfeited.

7.  KLAS is not responsible for any misdirected or wrongly addressed mail or email in regards to contests, including misdirected mail routings by the postal service, private delivery service or technical malfunctions of email systems or servers.

8.  Odds of winning depend on the number of entries.

9. Winner's acceptance of prize, constitute permission to use his or her name, photograph and likeness for purpose of advertising and promotion on behalf of KLAS-TV and Cox Communications without compensation.

10. Winner agrees that KLAS-TV, Cox Communications and their employees, immediate families, parents, affiliates, subsidiaries or agencies shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance of and/or participation in prize and/or contest will be required to execute forms releasing KLAS-TV, Cox Communications and it's subsidiaries and their employees, directors, offices or agents from any and all liability prior to receiving prize.

11. All entries become the property of KLAS. KLAS-TV may retain any and all contest materials for any reason that the station’s management deems crucial to the completion of the contest, or for reasons relating to publicity and/or advertising without compensation unless prohibited by law. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, fails to claim prize, fails to comply with all the rules, or fails to respond to winner notification, the selected winner is disqualified and the prize or spot is forfeited. If forfeited, another winner will be selected from the eligible entries.
